Decorating the baby's bedroom has been one of the most enjoyable projects ever. Any of my spare time has been consumed by it to be honest, and I cringe to think how much dosh I have spent on 'collecting' the bits and pieces over the past seven months. Let's just hope this baby appreciates a good space as much as her mum! To balance out the (fun) shopping, we have embarked on some cash saving projects I thought I'd share with you here. The newly painted grey space you see below, which is formerly this room is almost finished. I will definitely share the rest of the baby's room with you really soon.
I purchased the old bookshelf from an op shop for $50 - and it's as good as new with a coat of primer and Taubmans Peach Orchid.
I have always loved the 1963 Enzo Mari Red Apple screenprint. Budget wouldn't allow for me to purchase the real thing (£220), so I was a little cheeky and painted a far inferior version of it. The pendant light is the Foto from IKEA, that I spray painted with rust guard - the perfect matt grey in my opinion.
Toy storage is courtesy of a Laundry Hamper from Freedom. Given a little pick me up by me with a painted lilac base.
In case you haven't already guessed, a baby girl will be checking out this colourful room in about 7 weeks. Above is the French Navy card that we had the doctor secretly write in, that we opened the day before Christmas. I like to think the baby will hold on to the little frame for a long time.
I hope you all had a great weekend! - Briar
