My little blog has introduced me to some pretty fun things, but I never would have guessed it would lead me to driving around in a brand new car for a week. Ford asked me to test drive the new Focus (I know, I was surprised too) and it's going to sound like a blatant and cheesy plug, but I ended up feeling pretty spesh zipping around town in the jazzy little number. I spend too much of my life behind the wheel, and I can't say I missed the bus-like proportions of my petrol guzzling Kluger. The Focus has waaaay more buttons that I'm used to in a car (um...it can park itself - check it out here), and I actually couldn't work out how to tune the radio it was so fancy. I was worried I wouldn't be able to fit as much as I tend to need to load during the working day - but after putting the seats down, I was pleasantly surprised. My other half was also pleased, because for one week - we were a two car family. I've always said 'I'm not a car person', but after loving the Focus for a week - I can honestly say I turned in to a bit of a petrol head...like my husband jokingly said 'totally off-brand for the Sunday Collector'. Oh well. What about you? Are you a car person?

Took the Ford for a spin

I am definitely a car person! But I'm more in to vintage cars - can totally appreciate a zippy new one like this though. KJ x
ReplyDeleteWow - how great does it look inside, and with a Sony stereo as well! We are in the market for a new car and this has now been added to the list to look at (being a girl the 'park itself' feature is too good to be true!)
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun! I have a toyota. So not a car person, but it is a necessity for me too. I couldn't take a bus or ride a bike to photo shoots - way too much gear!
ReplyDeleteyes,..am totally a car person,... I have a gorgeous black alfa romeo wagon,...can fit all my props in the back,..and is so much fun to drive!
ReplyDeleteWow, that was shameless.

ReplyDeleteNot really shameless, I don't care if you choose to buy a Ford, a Toyota or a BMX. It was a fun experience from my point of view.
That's cool getting to drive a new car for the week! And a car that can park itself, I could do with that in my street, it's tight! I only got my first car this year, and even then it was my mother's old one. I think buying a brand new one could be exciting tho!
ReplyDeleteOh what a lucky ducky! That would've been fab.
ReplyDeleteI've only been driving for a few years and am currently on my green P's. I used to drive a lowered Holden Commodore, attracting fellow P platers that would roll up next to me with their doof doof music blaring. Unbeknownst to them, I had two screaming children in the car and Dolly Parton playing. I'm so hard :)
I no longer have that problem as I now drive a Subaru Forester. It's much better on the country roads and is lovely to drive.

ReplyDeleteHaha, love the lowered Commodore story! The Forester is a great car. That's on my next car wishlist I think x
